History of the City Palace
This palace is situated on the banks of Udaipur’s main lake – Lake Pichola – which makes it even more charming.
Construction of the City Palace began in 1559 and was expanded by the Maharanas of Mewar over nearly 400 years.
Many royal structures were added to its construction at different times – making its architecture diverse and extremely attractive.
